Social Security Trace Display Update – Effective December 20, 2025
Universal Background Screening is updating how Social Security Address/Alias Trace information appears on reports. The search process itself is not changing — only the display.
What’s Changing?
• Enhanced layout of SSN validation details
• Clearer status results for names
• Display of legitimate alias names returned
• New “Addresses Searched” section showing jurisdictions reviewed
Why the Update?
These changes support regulatory best practices and provide improved clarity for users.
The Social Security Address/Alias Trace is based on unverified data from numerous public and proprietary sources and is intended only as a research tool, not for adverse action decisions.
If you have questions, please contact your account representative.
Nevada Statewide Courts Search update
7/2/2025: Nevada Statewide Department of Public Safety has changed what they are returning on a statewide search. Effective immediately,
this search will no longer include dismissed, non-convictions or pending cases. Universal Background is ready to provide an alternative statewide search that will capture all of this information. This search is a county wide sweep of all 17 counties at the district court level.
Please contact your account representative to learn more about this search or to get started!
The National Sex Offender Database
